23 Schools, One Stage: De La Salle Sixth Form Crowned Winners of the EPAS National Quiz 2026
On 14 April 2026, the EPAS National Quiz Semi-Final and Final brought together students, educators, and the spirit of European democracy at Sacred Heart College, which proudly hosted this year’s national event.
Following months of preparation and local selection rounds across Malta and Gozo, 23 schools arrived ready to compete - each represented by one team, each carrying the ambition to reach the national final.
From 23 Teams to the Final 6
The day began with a dynamic semi-final round, where all 23 teams went head-to-head in a fast-paced and knowledge-driven contest. Demonstrating impressive understanding of the European Union, its institutions, and current affairs, students showcased not only academic excellence but also teamwork, critical thinking, and composure under pressure.
At the end of this highly competitive stage, six teams secured their place in the final - a moment that marked both achievement and anticipation.
A Final Worthy of the Journey
The final round brought together the top six teams in an exciting and closely contested showdown. With each question, the level of intensity rose, reflecting the dedication and preparation of the students who had made it this far.
After an outstanding performance, De La Salle Sixth Form emerged as the national winners of the EPAS Quiz 2026, earning not only the top honour but also the opportunity to host the next edition of the EPAS National Quiz.
Moreover, in recognition of their achievement, the winning team has been awarded a Euroscola experience in Strasbourg, offering 24 students and 2 educators the opportunity to visit the European Parliament and take part in a unique, hands-on simulation of parliamentary work alongside peers from across Europe.
A Celebration of Commitment and Passion
This milestone event stands as a testament to the continued growth and success of the European Parliament Ambassador School (EPAS) programme in Malta and Gozo.
Behind every participating team were dedicated educators who, throughout the scholastic year, have guided, motivated, and inspired their students to engage with European topics and active citizenship.
A heartfelt thank you goes to:
All participating students, for their enthusiasm, knowledge, and sportsmanship
Educators and Senior Ambassadors, for their unwavering commitment and support
Sacred Heart College, for hosting this year’s event with such professionalism and care
Looking Ahead
As the winners, De La Salle Sixth Form will take on the role of hosting the next EPAS National Quiz - continuing a tradition that reflects both excellence and responsibility within the EPAS network.
The journey of this year’s participants may have reached its final stage, but their engagement with Europe, democracy, and active citizenship continues far beyond the quiz.
