EPLO Valletta welcomes freshers at the University of Malta
EPLO Valletta's annual meeting with students at University
Last week, the European Parliament Liaison Office (EPLO) team participated in Freshers’ Week at the University of Malta, an annual appointment in EPLO's calendar, which gives the team the opportunity to meet hundreds of enthusiastic students eager to learn more about the European Parliament and the opportunities it offers.
Youth remain at the heart of everything we do at EPLO Valletta and Freshers’ Week was the perfect opportunity to connect with students taking their first steps into university life. At our stand, we showcased the European Parliament’s youth programmes, including together.eu, study visits, and Schuman Traineeships, highlighting how students can engage with the EU and make their voices heard. Students were also greeted by a special video message from the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, who wished them well in their studies and encouraged them to apply for traineeships to gain experience of European democracy in action.
With engaging activities, giveaways, and plenty of inspiring exchanges, our booth quickly became one of the most vibrant spots on campus.

Elaine Cordina, EPLO's Public Relations Officer, was one of the speakers at an event organised by ESO Malta at the University of Malta. Elaine shared her career journey within the EU institutions – highlighting opportunities, skills, and challenges along the way.
Thank you to everyone who visited us, and best of luck to all freshers for the year ahead! We look forward to meeting you again at Freshers’ Week 2026.
