Identifying Disinformation - Do you have what it takes?
Disinformation can silently undermine democracy, eroding trust in elections, institutions, public conversation, and fellow citizens.

Disinformation can silently undermine democracy, eroding trust in elections, institutions, public conversation, and fellow citizens.
But what do we mean by disinformation? How are we affected by it?
Join us for a half-day conference which will include exchanges with academics and professionals on understanding disinformation and how disinformation is designed to influence us. Sessions will examine the tactics used to design misleading content, the practical tools available to verify sources and spot false narratives in the Maltese context. There will also be a workshop on developing a disinformation identification checklist and an exhibition that explores what disinformation is, why we need to take action against it, and what the EU is doing to combat it.
MEPs Alex Agius Saliba and Peter Agius will conclude the session with a discussion on disinfo encountered as MEPs.
The conference is being organised by the European Parliament Liaison Office in Malta, in collaboration with the 3CL Foundation, the University of Malta, and MCAST. It will take place on Friday, 24th April at the University of Malta Library.
