JEF Malta, in collaboration with the European Parliament Liaison Office in Malta and other local partners, organised a week of activities between the 18-25th March under the title of the The Art of Activism, bringing together young people to explore how creativity and civic engagement can strengthen democratic participation.

The week-long campaign featured  a wide range of activities, including a talk, workshops, interactive sessions and an art exhibition, all aimed at encouraging reflection on European values, inclusion and active citizenship.

The debate,  Language and Democracy,  ensuring every voice is heard, featured high-level speakers, including Mr Walter Mavrič, Director General in the Parliament's DG for Translation, Ms  Rhoda Garland, Commissioner for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Professor Ray Fabri, from the Institute of Linguistics and Ms Nicole Bartolo, language graduate. The main take away from the debate was that "Clarification is more important than simplification"  and that effective communication was not about leaving out information but about making things clearer when it comes to communication.

The initiative forms part of a wider European campaign led by the Young European Federalists all over Europe, aiming to raise awareness about the role of youth activism in upholding democratic values and encouraging greater participation in civic life.
