The European Parliament Office in Malta is proud to launch the 2026 LUX Audience Award campaign, bringing five powerful European finalist films to Maltese and Gozitan audiences through free public screenings in local cinemas.

Organised by the European Parliament and the European Film Academy, the LUX Audience Award celebrates European cinema that reflects today’s most pressing social, political and human stories, encouraging audiences to watch, discuss and vote.

Free screenings in Valletta and Gozo

For the 2026 edition, all five nominated films will be screened free of charge:
•    once in Valletta at Spazju Kreattiv Cinema
•    once in Gozo at Citadel Cinema

All screenings will include English and Maltese subtitles, and for the first time, the five finalist films will also be subtitled for deaf and hard of hearing audiences (SDH) in both English and Maltese, strengthening accessibility and inclusion.

The five finalist films are subtitled in the 24 official EU languages by the Directorate General for Translation of the European Parliament, and free screenings are held in all 27 EU Member States, including Malta.

The screenings are being organised in collaboration with Spazju Kreattiv and Citadel Cinema, and will take place during February and March 2026.
